About the Diversity Visa
The Diversity Visa Program (DV Lottery) gives people from eligible countries a chance to get a Green Card and live in the United States. Each year, the U.S. Department of State randomly selects up to 55,000 applicants who are granted the opportunity to live and work permanently in the United States. The program is designed to promote diversity by offering this chance to individuals from countries with historically low rates of immigration to the U.S.
